URLやメールアドレスにオリジナルの言葉を入れてしまおうと言うのがドメインです。例えば、そのメールアドレスがsasaki@xxx.comだったら覚えやすいですよね。
また、サイトのURLがhttp://sasaki.comだったら、短いし覚えやすいですよね。
個人のサイトなら、長いURLでも良いでしょう。
ですが、ウェブでビジネス展開しようと言うのに、レンタルサーバーなどの長いURLだとかっこ悪いというイメージがあります。
確かに、sasaki.comだったら、短くてかっこいいと思います。
でも、覚えられやすいからという理由で、ドメイン取得をして、その分、費用をかける必要があるのか？

ドメイン取得をするとメリットがあるのは、検索エンジンでヒットさせられることです。
上位に入りたければ、ドメインを有料で取得したほうが、SEO対策として、断然有利となります。
